Turn the Tide
a poem
by Peter Ward

Throw a pebble into the sea
And watch the ripple for a second.
It ebbs into the forgotten:
Gone. Was it there?

Throw two pebbles into the sea
And watch how the ripples grow
Lingering until diluted by waves
As the soothing sea returns

What a difference
everyones' pebbles could make
if thrown against the waves
and the tide was made to turn.
